Vending Staff Serve Hot Drinks at Charity Starlight Walk

SnackTime staff from our VMI Blackburn depot helped charity walkers on the Starlight Walk by serving coffees, hot chocolate and tea from a Voce coffee vending machine when they finished their walk.

Women walked for 13 miles for St Rocco's Hospice as they battled torrential downpouts to raise money. Walkers pledged to raise £167,000 in sponsorship this year.

SnackTime provided hot drinks to over 1,600 women at the end of the walk. Our hot drink vending engineers delviered and installed one of our floorstanding coffee vending machines to the finish in Halliwell Jones Stadium. As the walkers arrived, the Vodce coffee machine served over 450 driks in 2 and a half hours. Steve Hartland, Head of Sales, commented 'The number of coffees served in that time must be a record for a free-standing vending machine!'

Stev joked, 'We were serving drinks to the 1000 walkers. The prospect of tired and thirsty women queuing for a hot drinks at midnight was a frightening experience! However, we were more than delighted to help serve them hot drinks as fast as we could as they had battled through torrential rain.'

SnackTime would like to thank Sean Johnson and his vending installation team, for installing the coffee machine with less than a week's notice.

Denise Gee, the events organiser, also passed on her sincere thanks to SnackTime and VMI in Blackburn.
